Originally from New York City Todd Vesely was a high school and collegiate gymnast. He taught Anatomy and Physiology at Permian High School (PHS) in Odessa, TX for 22 years. As the gymnastics coach at PHS, Todd led the gymnastics team to five State Championships, five State Runner-up finishes and five third place finishes for State. His teams captured sixteen Regional Championships including eight consecutive titles (1993-2000). He coached twenty-four individual State Champions, 175 State Finalists and his team still holds the state scoring record.

At the national level, Todd coached teams that won four National Championships and set two national scoring records. His Permian teams ranked in the Top Ten, nationally, for twenty consecutive years. He coached twenty-two Texas team members and three alternates to the National Championships.

Todd Vesely was twice awarded the High School National Coach of the Year. He was selected four times as the Texas Coach of the Year and received Regional Coach of the Year sixteen times. Todd was named a Permian High School Master Teacher in 2004 and was awarded the "Triple C Award" in 2005, the highest award for active High School gymnastics coaches in the State of Texas. In 2008, Coach Vesely was honored with the distinction of "Life Member" by the Gymnastics Association of Texas. In 2017, Todd was inducted into the Texas High School Gymnastics Coaches Association (THSGCA) "Hall of Honor".

Presently, Todd is the Executive Director of Athletics for Ector County ISD in Odessa, TX. He is the first and only gymnastics coach to serve in that capacity in Texas. As an athletic director, Todd has served as a regional director for the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association as well as serving as a committee chair. He has served as President of the National and State High School Gymnastics Coaches Associations. At the present time, Todd holds the position of Executive Director of THSGCA.
